Just finished this! It has been sitting on the drawing board (that is, the desktop,) for a looong time.
I love fairy tales, and I hate them. Basically everything in the original Hans Christian Anderson story irritates me, and yet…it is still beautiful. I’m also really into the Sea Witch, I may want to write about her some day. Blah blah blah sad little mermaid sacrificing herself so the other girl gets the prince blah blah blah SEA WITCH is where its at!

it is not uncommon for a mermaid to be cursed with undeath, and some have even suggested that their highly magical nature leads them towards it. undeath can take many forms, both vicious and benign, but all should be feared. they can often be found haunting ship graveyards, or dangerous waters where unsuspecting sailors may fall victim to the waves.
